History:

DigitalPrintmaker.com was founded by Rick De Coyte in 2017 in partnership with Toil & Tinker a local print shop with a love of all things art and print!.

Rick has spent over 20 years making fine art prints in Philadelphia, U.S.A. and was one of the pioneers of digital fine art printmaking. After running a successful graphic design and consulting company for digital graphic services for several years in 1993 he opened a gallery called Silicon Gallery in the arts district of Philadelphia, and later in New York, specializing in art "designed on or influenced by the computer".

The gallery was the first of it's kind in America (maybe the world) and gained a national reputation for showing computer art.

In 1996 Silicon purchased the now legendary IRIS printer and became one of the first print studios in the USA to produce archival prints digitally; they were also originally know as giclée prints.

The Museum of Modern at (MOMA) in New York and the BMA both had groundbreaking shows featuring digital work printed at Silicon.

Rick continued to run and create prints for artists in Philadelphia and New York until 2016 when he moved to Dubai.

We have MOVED, we are now located at Toil and Tinker Printing in their spanking new warehouse still in Al Quoz at:

Warehouse #11, Al Quoz Warehouse Complex, Plot No. 3640212.

(whatever that means . . . )
