Digitalprintmaker.com is a new digital fine art printmaking studio located in Al Quoz, Dubai aimed at fine art photographers and traditional artists in the MENA region. We have a three different kinds of image capture devices for traditional artists to scan flat art up to 1.5 x 2 meters (or bigger), a high-end film scanner for fine art photographers and the latest archival digital printer capable of printing on a wide range of fine art papers over 1.5 meters wide by any length.
We are a small Anglo/American start-up and have partnered with Toil and Tinker – a commercial print shop – and we are located in their space. Our master printmaker Rick De Coyte has run a successful fine art printmaking studio in the U.S.A. for the last 20 years.
Interns will have a unique opportunity to learn a range of image acquisition and printing skills and see firsthand how a small arts-based organization works in terms of getting projects, discussing artists needs and producing their art.
On the technical side interns will learn how to use image capture devices and correct methodology to scan and prepare flat art works for printing including scanning oversized artworks.
Detailed instruction will be given on how to use our new state-of-the-art large format printer to print on many different fine art papers, fabrics, and other substrates.
Interns will also need to understand that startups need to get the name and services known in the market and attract customers. To this end the intern will use social media and other marketing means to introduce the studio to artists and fine art photographers in the region.
The successful applicant should be Mac or Windows computer literate and have a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
Preference will be given to Emirati students currently enrolled in a full-time arts related college although applications are open to anyone.
Interested applicants should e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with a cover letter and resume.
